Tyvek® envelopes can be addressed with most standard inkjet systems. Solvent pigmented ink-based systems work ideally because of their quick-drying characteristics. The Hewlett Packard 51645A cartridge at 300 DPI delivers very good results and the HP-51626A cartridge at 150 DPI delivers acceptable results. However, many lower priced units use water-based inks that typically dry more slowly on Tyvek® than on paper. In this case, some adjustments such as "draft-mode" printing, longer feed intervals or dryers will help enhance the printing quality on Tyvek®. Tyvek® envelopes are not suitable for laser printing.
